Mary Beth (Walters) Olson, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 23, 2024 with her family by her side. Mary Beth began her life journey on September 10, 1941 in Sullivan IN, born to George Walters and Mary(Mason) Walters. She married William (Bill) Ray Olson and they spent over 35 years in love. Mary Beth was an avid writer. She was published in Chicken Soup for the Soul, Highlights, and Texas Travel. She had a passion for horse racing and could watch the Kentucky Derby over and over again. In the past year she has found so much joy in all the adventures she has gone on with her loving family by her side.
Preceding her are her parents, George and Mary Walters, her Brother, Ned Walters, her husband William (Bill) Ray Olson, her Son, James Kevin Libke,
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter in law, Julia Libke, step daughter, Jeanne Olson Nash, grandchild, Ashley Barre Anderson(Allen), great grandchildren, Jovie Anderson and Aurora Anderson, Niece, Beth Ann Waters Sauser, a special cousin Gib Hudson, James’s father, James E Libke, as well as numerous brother in laws, sisters in laws, and other extended family.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday March 29th at 1:00 at Center Ridge Cemetery. The staff at Holmes Memorial Chapel were honored to assist the family with arrangements.
A special thank you to the First Responders and Emergency Staff including Air Evac, Lifeline, Sullivan County Fire Department, and Sullivan County Hospital Staff especially Dr. Elkins.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Sullivan County Humane Shelter in Mary Beth’s honor.
