Clara Faye (Ready) Walters, 86, of Carlisle passed away peacefully at her home on April 18, 2019 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Knox County on April 15, 1932 in Iona IN; she was one of eight children born to Ira and Orpha (Hobson) Ready. Faye graduated from Carlisle high School in 1950. Faye married Robert Nash Walters on September 19, 1954. They were married for over 50 years, farmed together and raised their two children, Mary Ann and Rob on the Walters farm Northeast of Carlisle.
She was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was involved with United Methodist Women. Faye was also very active with Indiana Farm Bureau, serving as both county and State Women's Leader. She was an avid quilter and painter, was a charter member of the Sullivan Art Guild and volunteered at Sullivan County Community Hospital for 24 years.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband Bob, 2010 and their son Robert Bobby Walters in 2000, along with her parents, brothers Max Ready and John Ready, sisters Alice Ready Hall and Eva Ready Knotts.
Survivors include her daughter Mary Ann Dudely and her husband Chip of Carlisle, grandchildren, Rob and Susan Brooks, Katie and Bobby Farmer, Randi and Nick Martin, Jess and Laura Walters, great grandchildren Will Brooks, Camryn Farmer, Nick Brooks, Gunner Martin, Ryder Martin, Landyn Farmer, Gavyn Farmer, Sampson Walters, Syler Walters, and baby girl Martin. Sisters Mary Ready Horton, Pat Ready Harden, and brother Dale Ready.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Pastor Adrienne Greene officiating. Visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home from 4-8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to The Carlisle Ambulance Service, PO Box 206 Carlisle IN. 47838. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
