Deborah Okes,71, of Graysville passed away on Friday July 12, 2019 at her daughter’s residence after a short battle with a rare cancer. She was born in Washington, IN, October 21, 1947 to John and Alma (Flo) (Thompson) Criss. Debbie was a homemaker and had spent the last few years caring for the love of her life who passed away June 25, 2018. She was a 1965 graduate of Sullivan High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Nelson Okes, grandson Langdon Bynum, brothers Marion (Dink Criss), Matthew Criss, Kenny Criss and a sister Betty Wills
Survivors include her daughters Leona (Bob) Davis, Laura (Doug) Baker, son Bradley (Angie) Okes, one brother Joe Criss, grandchildren, Christopher (fiance Jenna) Bynum, Briauna (Brandon) Himes, Kaley (Morgan) Kindall, Nathaniel (ChyAnne) Bynum, Tiera (John) Vaughn, Alexis Beahan, Harley Davis, Ashton Okes, Hudson Okes, Haiden Okes, great grandchildren Carter Reed, Anthony Bynum, Rex Allen Ake, Blaine Kindall, Quentin Ake, Karsyn Kindall, Jayleigh Ake, Blakeleigh Bynum, Killian Bynum, Ryan Himes, August Vaughn and other relatives.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at 11:00 a.m. at the graveside on Saturday July 20, 2019 at Union Chapel Cemetery with Brother Ray Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Holmes Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
