John Elmore Obituary

John Simmons Elmore age 66 of Sullivan Indiana suffered a stroke at his home Sunday April 14th 2019. He passed away Tuesday April 16th 2019 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute Indiana. He was born March 4th 1953 in Sullivan Indiana to Morris "Jack" Elmore and Darhis Elmore (Dougherty). He was a 1971 graduate of Sullivan High School, Indiana State University, and Western State University. He worked as a prosecutor in Sullivan and Knox counties and also operated a private law practice in Sullivan. He was also an ordained pastor and a member of Word of Life church in Sullivan Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father "Jack" Elmore.

He is survived by his mother Darhis Elmore, his son Andrew Elmore, his brother Brian Elmore, and his nieces Alison, Ashley, Haley, and Hannah.

Visitation will be held at Holmes Funeral Home in Sullivan from 4-8p.m. on Thursday April 18th 2019, and the funeral will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday April 19th at 2pm. He will be remembered as a dedicated public servant, a loving son, a beloved brother, and an amazing father. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery.
