Sandy Walters, 76, of Sullivan passed away on Monday December 30, 2019 at Millers Merry Mannor. She was born on November 18, 1943 to Robert Wayne Hallett and Mary Nell Fisher Hallet in Benton Harbor MI. Her mother and father had passed away at an early age and was adopted and raised by her grandparents Mae and Emil Fisher of Hymera. She was a 1961 graduate of Hymera High School, went to Beauty College and had married Larry Brooks. She had been a member of the Sullivan VFW Auxiliary, the Sullivan American Legion, a 50 year member of the Hymera Eastern Stars and had attended Word of life Church. Most everyone will remem ber Sandy from working at Baeslers Super Market. Preceded in death are her Parents, her husband Ralph Walters, a brother Robert Hallett, half sister MaryAnn Caddell
Survivors include her daughter Sue (Brad) Thompson of Mt. Carmel IL, a son Jeff (Pearl) Brooks of Poseyville, grandchildren Kendall Thompson and Bryce Thompson, several step grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday January 3, 2020 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Norman Santus officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery. The family suggest that if friends so desire, memorial contribution may be made to the Sullivan County Humane society, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
