Sarah Ann (Vickrey) Brown

Sarah Ann Vickrey Brown, 63, of Sullivan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Saturday, August 24, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends.    She was born in Sullivan Indiana, to Tom and Beverly (Lind) Vickrey, on November 13, 1955.

Her parents preceded her in death.

She was a 1974 graduate of Sullivan High School and a member of the Sullivan First Christian Church.  Sarah earned her nursing degree and was a dedicated lifelong nurse.     Sarah loved being with her family, friends and co-workers.   She had a love for music, with every song being her “favorite”.  

Survivors include her son Tommy Brown of Terre Haute.  Two sisters, Vera Vickrey of Newburgh Indiana and Kim (Mark) Cox of Sullivan.   One grandchild, Olive Hedges.   Her Aunt Ruth Carter of Sullivan,  seven nieces and nephews,  Christa Lammers, Carrie Lammers, Katie Taylor, Tommy Lammers, Tom Thacker, Micah Thacker and Samantha Cox.  Her 16 great nieces and nephews loved Sarah and they called her “ZaZa”.   

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Reverend David Cox officiating.  Casket bearers will be Tommy Lammers, Tom Thacker, Micah Thacker, Phil Lammers, Mark Cox, Chriss Carter and Tom Carter.   Burial will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery.   Visitation will be Wednesday, August 28, 2019, from 4-8:00 p.m.
