Troy David Cowden, 48, of Hymera, passed away at IU Health in Indianapolis on September 21, 2019. He was born in Terre Haute on March 11, 1971 to Jerry Cowden Sr. and Cheryl Darlene Stines. Troywas a 1989 graduate of North Central High School, joined the United States Army and served in Desert Storm. Troy loved mushroom hunting, fishing and hunting. He was a construction worker, andbelonged to local 204 and was a member of Hymera Legion post298. He was precededin death by his father Jerry Cowden Sr, and his sister Kimberly Kay Stines.
Survivors include his mother, Cheryl Darlene Stines, his two children, Huston Lee Cowden, Jayden David Cowden, two stepchildren, Ramsee Lynn (Jason) Einstandig, Dillion Michael Prewitt, one step grandson Jeremy Leroy Einstandig, two brothers Billy Darwin Steins, Jerry Wayne Cowden Jr., a sister AngelaMarie Cowden, several aunts, uncles cousins and nieces and nephews, ex-mother-in-law, Cheryl Cox and his companion Kathy Gambill.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday September 28, 2019 at the Apostolic Emanuel Church in Hymera with pastor Billy Stines officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from noon until the time of services. Military services will be given by the Hymera, Shelburn and Sullivan American Legion’s and the Sullivan VFW. Holmes Memorial Chapel has assisted the family with arrangements. Burial will be in K of P Cemetery.
