Alice Fern Carter

Alice Fern Carter, 101, of Sullivan passed away at Miller's Merry Manor at 2:55am on July 2, 2015. She was born April 29, 1914 in Sullivan to James Robert "Bob" Wright and Mary L. Perkhiser Wright. Survivors include nephew Bill Wright and his wife Jan their children Jennifer, Sarah, and Joseph, niece Mary Jean Ethridge, husband Everett and her daughters Kathy and Amy, nephew Chris Carter and wife Debbie and their daughter Amy, and nephew Tom Carter and Jennifer and children Travis, Jenna, and Carson, also a sister-in-law Ruth Carter. Preceding Alice in death were her husband James Robert Carter, whom she married May 25, 1952; sisters Hallie Sanders, Nellie Anderson, Mary Wright, Marie Andis, Pauline Walters, Ruth Nichols, and brothers Toy, Burrel, Mervin, and Herman. She was a member of Sullivan First Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Holmes Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until time of service at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to a charity of your choice. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery.
