Anna Belle Montgomery

Anna Belle Montgomery, 95, of Sullivan passed away on Monday December 21, 2015. She was born in Sullivan County on August 5, 1920 to Thomas Hobbs Sr. and Katherine Hughes Hobbs. Anna was a member of Carlisle Christian Church and had owned and operated several restaurants. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Kathern (Hill) Pirtle, two brothers Thomas Hobbs, William Hobbs, grandchildren Kathi Roberts, Danny Macdonald and a great grandson JP Alexander. Survivors include seven grandchildren Jack (Lana) Alexander of Sullivan, Doug Macdonald of Sullivan, David Macdonald of Terre Haute, Jamie Kinnaman and Todd Setzer of Sullivan, Janet Pirtle of Sullivan, Barbara (Brian) Golish of Sullivan, Kimmie Hendrickson of Sullivan, fourteen great grandchildren, eighteen great great grandchildren a special friend Betty Peloso of Sllivan. Memorial services to celebrate her life will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday January 9, 2016 at the Carlisle Christian Church with Rev Bill Samm Phegley officiating. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to her great grandson's JP Alexander memorial scholarship fund in care of the Wabash Valley Community Foundation, 2901 Ohio Boulevard, Suite 153, Terre Haute IN 47803. Envelopes will be available at the memorial service or at the funeral home. Holmes Memorial chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
