Barbara Ellen (Jones) Allen

May 20, 1929 — January 28, 2025

Sullivan

Minister Barbara Ellen Jones Allen was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, On Tuesday January 28, 2025 at Sullivan County Community Hospital. Barbara began her life journey on May 20, 1929 in Flint Michigan, one of 5 children of the late, Floyd and Helen Lents Jones. She married the love of her life Elmer Allen in 1945. They spent 68 years alongside one another, building a successful business, raising children and ministering. They now are strolling the shore of the crystal sea hand in hand, never to be separated again.

Barbara from a young age, had a heart to share the love and word of Jesus. She was involved in the United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School classes, and was President of the Methodist Women on the district level. Later she went on to further her love of sharing Christ by obtaining her Ministers license with the United Methodist Church, serving area Churches in New Lebanon and Rose Chapel. She loved those she pastored and met along the way with deep devotion. She attracted people with her kind heart and gentle ways that she abundantly and freely shared. She led many to know the love she held so dearly, the love of Christ. She was someone you met and she would make you feel as if you had known her for a lifetime. She continued leading hearts to Christ up till the end of her life journey. She leaves a legacy in Christ that many can say “Thank You for giving to the Lord so selflessly”.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, first and foremost she was devoted to her Lord and Savior.  She was also the office manager for Wabash Valley Social Services where she enjoyed meeting people and helping meet their needs. She often enlisted the help of her husband to deliver to those in need. She will be truly missed while her memory will be dearly cherished and live on in the heart of her family.

Barbara was lovingly greeted at the Pearly Gates by her parents and husband along with siblings, Clifford Orum Jones, Maudie McRoberts and Marion Lee Jones.

Those here to cherish her memory are her children, Robert Allen and Pennye Allen Siefert (B.J.); grandchildren,Dawna Renyolds, Stacee Fischer Gehring (Jeff), Ryan Fischer (Bobbi), Stacia Siefert and Jason Siefert; great-grandchildren, Diona, Keegan, Cas, Kaleb, Jackson, Evie and Carys; great-grandchildren, Daylin, Darby, Lucille and Bonnie; sister, Lois Hart, along with several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
