Barbra Dawn (Crist) Hudson, 79, of rural Farmersburg passed away June 12, 2024 at Sullivan County Community Hospital. She was born in Sullivan County on February 19, 1945 to Denver and Mannon (Taylor) Crist. She was a 1963 graduate of Hymera High School. In addition to being a loving wife and beloved mom, she was a teacher’s aide and then secretary at Hymera Elementary. She loved her Red Hat Society group and their adventures, her family, friends and her Lord. She was a member of Grace Communion International Church and most recently attended First Baptist Church of Shelburn.
Barbra was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Hudson, her brothers-in-law Charles ‘Chic’ Hudson and Rex Miller, and her niece Shannan Hudson. She is survived by her favorite son Paul (Jennie) Hudson, her favorite son Jeff (Karen) Hudson, her favorite son Denver (Laura) Hudson, all of Terre Haute, and her favorite son David (Shelly) Hudson of Fishers. Also surviving are sisters Grace Miller of Coalmont, Joy (John) Brown of Hymera, 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from noon to two on Saturday, June 15 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with the funeral following at 2 P.M. Pastor Adam Snyder will officiate. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg.
The family expresses their deepest gratitude to all the care team at Sullivan County Community Hospital for the amazing care and concern shown to Barbra and our whole family.
