Barry Stuck, Age 71, of Sullivan County, Indiana

Barry Stuck, age 71, passed away on January 31, 2026. He was a beloved dad, papaw, grandpa, brother, teacher, mentor, coach, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born and raised in Sullivan County, Barry dedicated his life to the people and land he cherished. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Marge Stuck, and his brothers, Ransom and Steve Stuck.

Barry is survived by his children, Kris, Lindsey, and Ashley; their mother and his close friend, Crystal (Stuck) Treadway; his grandchildren, Leila, Hailey, Joey, Barrett, Cailyn Grace, Antoinette, and Charlie; his sister, Cheryl Turner, and brother-in-law, John Turner; and his nieces and nephews, Randi, Josh, Clayton, Lance, and Kylan. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Simon, and his granddogs, Oz and Molly.

Barry’s love for life was evident in his passions. He treasured time on his farm, enjoyed peaceful forest walks, and could often be found at the gym or in the summer with his grandkids at a pool or lake. He was an accomplished athlete, excelling in basketball and baseball—having even played for ISU—and he brought that same energy and competitive spirit to everything he did.

In his career, Barry found his true calling as a CPA and Auditor at First Financial Bank, where his natural affinity for numbers served him well. He spent over thirty years with First Financial Bank, training and mentoring many accountants throughout those years. He adored his career and the people he built relationships with throughout his time at First.

Though a dedicated professional, Barry never took life—or himself—too seriously. He imparted his children and grandchildren with a sense of humor, humility, and the importance of finding joy in life's simple pleasures. His children remember visiting their dad at work, just to be put up to playing pranks on others in the office. He even had games in his office to play. It wasn't unlike Barry to make comments or jokes with his grandkids that left them laughing or rolling their eyes - from trying on funny hats at the store or going underwater for just a bit too long while his grandkids tried to pull him up. Anytime he drove over a bridge with his children, he made sure to remind them of the dangers by, "Wouldn't it be terrible if..." Then he would laugh as his children responded with, "DAD, STOP..." Barry carried his own father's (Tom's) sense of humor and jokes to his kids and grandkids. Barry always found time to coach his children's sports teams - leaving work in a suit and showing up to the ball field in a cut off shirt and shorts. He would throw the ball "to the clouds" for his daughters to catch out in the backyard. Barry believed in hard work, loyalty to family, and the value of laughter. The life lessons he taught will continue to resonate with generations to come.
