Betty Jones

August 16, 1935 — March 19, 2024

Betty Sue (Scott) Jones, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Glenburn Senior Living. Betty began her life journey on August 16, 1935 in Henderson KY,  born to the late Elmer and Virlie Crawford Scott.  She married George Jones Jr. and from their union they lovingly raised three sons. She was a longtime employee of Sullivan First Baptist Church and Sullivan Coin Laundry.  She loved reading, going for walks and cooking.  She was an excellent cook and she took pride in gathering her family around the table for delicious meals and visiting. Betty was a loving caretaker for her late husband in his failing health.

Preceding her are her parents, Elmer and Virlie Scott and her husband, George JonesJr.; siblings,Thomas,Clarence,Charles,Bobby,Wanda, Vonda, June, Jean and Mary Lou;

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Kenneth and Rita Jones, Kevin and Deborah Jones along with Keith Jones; grandchildren, Jami, Ken Jr. Kyle, Mitchell and Nicolas; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jonathan, Madison, Jase, Hunter, Savanah, Collin, Kaden, Harleigh, Rosalie, Abram, Violet; great-great grandchildren, Waylon and Vayda.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 6th with visitation from 11:00 until 12:00 with private burial afterwards at Center Ridge Cemetery. The staff at Holmes Memorial Chapel were honored to assist the family with arrangements.
