Bill Michael Orr, 73, of Carlisle, died Monday, June 15th at his home. He was born February 10, 1942, at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Illinois. He graduated from Lyons Township High School Illinois in 1960 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1964. He attended graduate school in Psychology at Madison and the University of North Dakota-Grand Forks. He lived and worked on and off in San Francisco for 10 years. After traveling extensively in South America for a year, he moved to Carlisle in May 1978 and moved into the house where his father was born in 1909. He farmed with Jim Barker for 14 years before striking out on his own in 1992. He farmed by himself until joined by his son Clifford in 2002.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford (C.M.) and Irene Spears Orr, and a brother John Orr.
Survivors include his wife Joan (Livingston-Webber) whom he married July 22, 1969, and July21, 2012; his daughter Ashley (Bradley) Hiatt of Sullivan, and son Clifford (Samantha) Orr of Carlisle. Step-children Jim (Alice) Anderson of Paris, IL, Rich Anderson of Terre Haute, Jacob (Louise) Karlstad of Copenhagen, Denmark, Martha Karlstad (Eric Levermann) Viroqua, Wisconsin, Audrey Karlstad (Laurie Stiles) Oakland, CA, one sister Sally (Bill) Berger of Mill Valley, CA., and numerous nieces and nephews located around the country.
He was a proud 25 plus year member of the International Order of the Odd Fellows Lodge #50, elected to the Town Board in 1992 and served as the President of the Town Board of Carlisle since 1996. He enjoyed his family, his community and took great care of both. His love of good conversation and good company endeared him to all who met him.

Visitation for Bill will be Friday, Jun19th 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Odd Fellow Memorial Service at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 20th at 2:00pm at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held at the Sullivan Co. VFW immediately following the services on Saturday.
