Bill R Pierce

Bill R. Pierce, 86, of Sullivan passed away on Sunday April 29, 2018 at his Residence. He was born as part of a family of five boys, in Sullivan on February 6, 1932 to John and Christina (Trulock) Pierce. Bill was a 1950 graduate of Sullivan High School, he met the love of his life Linda Pirtle the daughter of Herschel and Veva Pirtle in 1953 and they were married June 27, 1954. They had two children, a son Larry Ray and a daughter Susan Kay. Bill was owner and operator of Pierce Gas Service Inc. He sold his business in 1981 and retired. He was a member of the Sullivan First Baptist Church for 63 years and was actively involved. He enjoyed golfing for many years and loved to work in his yard and flowers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Larry Ray, four brothers Wayne, Rex, Max and Harry.

Survivors include his wife Linda, his daughter and her husband Susan Kay and Jeff Abrams, Daughter in-law Sherrie Pierce, one granddaughter Ashley (Kyle) Shorter and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Bill will be at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bret Cox officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8:00p.m. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery.
