Bill Pierson

Bill Pierson, 85, of Sullivan passed away on Sunday April 6, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Sullivan County on June 15, 1928 to Paul J and Glen Minter Pierson. Bill was a 1946 graduate of Sullivan High School, honorably discharged Navy Veteran, been employed by Pfizer, past president and business manager for the IUOE Local Union 841, life member of the American Legion Post 139, Elks Lodge #911, and a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church. Preceding him in death are his parents, a brother Joseph Pierson, and three sisters Imogene Hill, Ruth Woodward, Reah Nell Connell.

Surviving members of his family are his wife of 64 years Marty (Hamilton) Pierson whom he married on March 4, 1950, two sons PJ and his wife Karen Pierson of Sullivan, John Patrick (Pat) Pierson of Sullivan, a daughter Suzanne and her husband JR Gilham of Sullivan, six grandchildren Brian Neil Gilham, Lela Earley, Carrie Gilham, Billy Paul Pierson II, Marie Pierson, Ana Pierson, step grandchild Lincoln Pierce, great grandchildren John Paul Gilham, Joseph Neil Gilham, Jaleigh Rose Gilham, Aphtyn Elizabeth Early, Emmarie Victoria Early step great grandchildren Payton Pierce, Parker Pierce and great great grandchild Evan Joseph Gilham .

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday April 8, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sullivan with Fr. Frank Renner officiating. Holmes Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements. Burial will take place at Center Ridge Cemetery. The family suggest that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Care Hospice.
