Hymera, IN Bruce Edward Barnett, 81, of Hymera, passed away at home, Monday, February 15, 2016 after having struggled with Parkinson's disease for several years. He was born August 8, 1934 to Dewey and Frances Ashcraft Barnett. Bruce served in the Army Band, spending most of his time in Germany. He worked at Bemis 8 years and retired from Pfizer after 29 years. He was a member of the Hymera First Baptist Church many years where he served as deacon and song leader. He was also in the gospel group Master's Bouquet. His parents preceded him in death. Bruce is survived by his wife of 59 years, Zada June Scales Barnett, a son Bradley Barnett, four daughters Anita (Terry) Gilman, Pamela Barnett, Darla Barnett, and Cara (Larry) Fellows, 5 grandsons Ryan (Hilary) Gilman, Andrew (Aprill) Gilman, Caleb (Amanda) Gilman, Cody and Connor Fellows, 3 great-grandchildren Emma Gilman, Norah Gilman, and Camden Gilman, one sister Elaine Boubek and a brother John Barnett. Visitation will be at Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, and from 10:00am until time of services at 1:00pm, on Friday, February 19, 2016, with Pastor Larry Ricketts officiating. Interment will follow in K of P Cemetery in Hymera. Family suggest in lieu of flowers friends may contribute to the Hymera First Baptist in memory of Bruce.
