Carl Samm, 90, of Hymera, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, February 28,2026 at Sullivan County Community Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. He began his life journey on August 23,1935, the son of the late Clarence and Edith Samm.
Carl attended Bethel Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He met and married his loving wife, Ethel Fink on September, 17, 1960. Together they shared loving their family and life side by side. His later years were spent in the halls of North Central School, as a custodian and also a bus driver.
Carl was a master gardener who had the ability to grow anything he planted, his gardens were lush and beautiful. He took pride in his green thumb. You could often find him outdoors “tinkering” with his latest project. He built many memories over the years with his brothers on the fishing bank, where he said, Basil always out fished him. He enjoyed watching westerns, and always enjoyed mowing the yard. He was groundskeeper for K of P Cemetery for many years. His greatest treasures in life were his family. Carl was a dedicated Husband, Dad and Grandpa. He cherished the time spent with each of them.
Those preceding him are his parents; wife, Ethel Samm; daughter, Annette Samm; siblings, Herbert, Bill, Jack, Basil and Wanita Samm, along with a granddaughter, Amanda.
