Carol Sue Harmon

November 30, 1955 — October 30, 2025

Shelburn

Carol Sue Skinner Harmon, 69, of Shelburn, Indiana, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 29, 2025, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Niles, Michigan, on November 30, 1955, to John E. “Jack” Skinner and Barbara Moses Skinner. Carol attended Sullivan High School and spent 43 wonderful years with the love of her life, Michael “Wally” Harmon. She missed him deeply after his passing in 2014 and looked forward to being reunited with him. She retired from Walmart and was a member of the Shelburn American Legion Auxiliary Post #197.

Carol enjoyed archery, attending drag races, reading, visiting with friends and family, and taking trips with them. One of her greatest joys in life was being “Mamaw” to her grandson, Adyn. She loved big and was easy to love. She found joy in life’s simple things—watching sunsets, gazing at the night sky, and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; mother and father-in-law, Wes and Marilyn Brewer Harmon; sisters, Sherri Skinner and Linda Flowers; and brothers-in-law, Fred Harmon and Mark Jones.

Those left with precious memories of her include her son, Mike “Wes” Harmon (Darla); her cherished grandson, Adyn Harmon; sister, Jackie Chambers (Ed); brothers, John Skinner (Dana) and Ted Skinner (Barb); sister-in-law, Nina Jones; many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins; and countless friends she loved deeply—including cousin and best friend GayLee Brewer (Bob), Debbie Haag, Sandy Pearison, and many more. She loved her family and her friends with the same open heart—each held a special place in her life. She loved you all so much.

A very special thank-you goes to her sister and brother-in-law—and friends—Jackie and Ed Chambers, for opening their home and lovingly caring for her before she entered hospice. The family would also like to thank Hospice of the Wabash Valley for helping them care for her and honor her wish to remain at home as her time grew small. Thank you to all who reached out with offers of assistance and food—it was greatly appreciated. Her earthly life may have come to an end, but her eternal life is just beginning.

There will be no formal services. Cremation is scheduled, with arrangements entrusted to Holmes Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Shelburn American Legion at a later date.
