Charles Gene “Charley” Rambis, 66, of Wilfred, passed away on October 6, 2019 with his family by his side. He was born in Sullivan County on November 7, 1952 to Tony Rambis and Bertha Cleomia (Spore) Rambis. Charley was a 1971 graduate of North Central High School and attended Franklin College. He retired after 36 years of employment from Eli Lilly / Elanco Clinton, Indiana. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; a lifetime member of the NRA, and an avid hunter. Preceded in death are his parents, and a beloved sister Toni French.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years Roma (Thompson) Rambis whom he married on September 15, 1973, a son Chris (Kristie) Rambis of Bainbridge, a daughter Jennifer (James) O’Connor of Noblesville, brothers Larry Wade (Linda) of TX, Jimmy Bill (Tina) Rambis of Shelburn, Mark (Debbie) Rambis of FL, sisters, Peggy Frailey of CA, Cindy Rambis-King (Gary) of CA, Kelly Rambis of GA, father and mother in-law, Tandy and Delores Thompson of Farmersburg, brother in-laws Bill French, Bruce (Diana) Thompson, Chuck (Lisa) Thompson, sister-in-law Vickie (Larry) Neal, grandchildren, Logan O’Connor, Noah O’Connor, Keegan O’Connor, Savannah Rambis, Lillian Rambis, step grandchildren Kaylyn Hankins, Cameron Hankins, Kyler Hankins, Caiden Hankins, his best friend Mr. Biscuit N Gravy and several other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Larger officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Oak Grove cemetery in Wilfred.
