Charlotte Anne Hauger Black, 91, of Sullivan, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on February 21, 2026 at The Waters of Sullivan. She began her life journey on March 8,1934 in Sullivan County. She was the daughter of the late, Ossa And Delores Johnson Hauger, Charlotte attended Central Baptist Church in Sullivan, where she loved her church family, and was in return loved by them. Charlotte was a wonderful Mother, who deeply loved and adored her family. In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles, singing and most importantly, spending time with her loved one's.
She is preceded by her parents, and late husband’s, Robert Lawhorn, Jerry R. Mayfield and Leon Black; son, Robert Lester Lawhorn; siblings, Edward Gene Hauger and Betty Baughman; daughter in-law, Carol Mayfield and son in-law, Steven Tingley.
Those here to cherish her memory are her children, Dawnetta Hauger (Lester), Chris Mayfield and Cindy Tingley; grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott, Todd, Shannon, Brittany, Alec, Vypre; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Services to celebrate her home going will be on Saturday, February, 28, 2026 at Sullivan Central Baptist Church. Service will be at 2:00 pm. with Pastor David Simpson officiating. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the family to assist with burial expenses.
Holmes Memorial Chapel and staff were honored to assist the family with arrangements.
