Dayton Faris

Terre Haute, Dayton L Faris, 75, of Terre Haute passed away on Wednesday August 17, 2016 in his residence. He was born in Terre Haute on June 13, 1941 to Marcus Faris and Kathaleen (Lahue) Faris. Dayton was a 1959 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School, an Army Veteran having served in the 68th Armored Div, was a member of the American Legion post 104, the VFW and the Murdock Club. Preceding him in death are his parents, a brother Tommy Faris and a brother in-law Ron Hay.

Surviving are his wife Rebecca (Layman) Faris, a son Steve Faris of Terre Haute, two daughters Lauri Shewmaker of Martinsville IL, Amy Conard of Martinsville IN, a sister Marcia Hay, six grandchildren, Kaylize Faris, Dayton Faris, Seth Shewmaker, Meghan Miller, Samantha Donham, Dawson Jenkins, and eight great grandchildren.

Services to honor his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 27, 2016 at Sulfer Springs Cemetery in North Terre Haute with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. Military honors will be given by the American Legion Post 104.
