Dennis E. “Digger” Hamilton passed into eternal rest on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Digger's journey in life began on July 31,1957 in Sullivan. Born the second son of Donald “Don” and Ruth Tarwater Hamilton. He was a member of the 1975 graduating class of Sullivan High School. The bond of friendship he forged in his school years remained through his lifetime. He was the thread that hemmed old friendships together, gladly hosting gatherings for all. He was a long time employee with Hoosier Energy, in the maintenance department. A member of IBEW 1393 . He was a dedicated lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, Sullivan Post # 2459. On August the 23,1980 he married Kerri Monk and together they lived and loved life for 44 years .
Digger was a down to earth good guy, that was willing to extend a helping hand to any and all. He was a true ‘Helper, Loaner” and all around true and faithful friend. His smile and kind heart was evident to all he met along the way. He enjoyed scuba diving trips with friends, fishing and tinkering in his shop.
First and foremost he was a devoted husband, dad and grandfather. Nothing was as important as his family. He was immensely proud of his son and grandson. Spending endless time in the shop sharing and teaching them both his wealth of knowledge. He enjoyed watching Siler’s dirt bike racing. He was the “Dado” that story books are written about. He adored his family. His presence will be deeply missed but forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
Preceding him are his parents, along with father in-law, John Monk and mother in-law, Sally Lucas.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kerri Hamilton; son, Kristopher Hamilton (Sarah); grandson, Siler Hamilton; bonus grandchildren, Hunter and Ali; brother, John Hamilton (Linda) along with extended family, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
