Carlisle, IN Carl C. "Dick" Knotts, 94, of Carlisle passed away at 11:11am, Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in Breckenridge Health and Rehab in Sullivan. He was born March 8, 1920, in Carlisle, to Carl Raymond Knotts and Gertie Coleman Knotts. Survivors include his wife of 68 years Eva Ready Knotts, daughter Frances Hale (Butch), a son Richard Knotts (Janice), grandsons Curt Hale (Kristal), Kyler Knotts (Gretchen), a grand-daughter Kendra Fuhs (Brian), great-grandchildren Parker Hale, William Hale, Gracie Hale, Carson Fuhs, Collier Fuhs and Keaton Knotts, and a sister Norma Mason. Preceding him in death were his parents, daughter Jane Knotts, grandson Carter Hale, four sisters Ruth Blice, Helen Leak, Lois Monroe, and Erma Dugan. Dick was a life time farmer, held memberships in the Carlisle United Methodist Church, Sullivan County Hospital Board, Board of Directors for the Farm Bureau and Farm Co-op, the Busseron Water Shed, Carlisle Masonic Lodge of which he was a 50 year member, a graduate of Carlisle High School, was very active around the community, and an avid woodworker. Visitation will be Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan from 9:00am until time of service at 11:00am with Pastor Mike Irvine officiating. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery in Carlisle.
