Carl Norman “Dick” South, 86, of Sullivan, formerly of Carlisle passed away on December 18, 2021 at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Sullivan county on January 4, 1935, to Earl South and Kathryn (Bolenbaugh) South. He was a 1953 graduate of Carlisle High School and had gone on to ISU. He was employed at Essex wire for 37 years and in 1981 he received the Presidents Award from United Technologies Essex Group for extraordinary management effectiveness. After retirement they spent their winters in Alabama. Dick was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church, a Life Member of the Sullivan Elks, an avid golfer and a member of the Rinky Dinks. Preceding him in death are his parents and siblings, Mary Frances Irwin, Virginia Snyder, Patricia Hesler, Barbara Gluth, Garry South, and John South.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years Rosalee (Byrn) South, whom he married on November 8, 1967, sons Todd (Anita) South of New Lebanon, Troy South of Plainfield, Shawn (Emily) South of St. Petersburg FL, grandchildren Adison South, Ashton South, Logan South, Connor South, several nieces nephews and cousins.
Services for Dick will be private. Holmes Memorial chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
