Doddie Jean (Cartwright) Mcclure

d. October 19, 2024

Doddie Jean Cartwright McClure, 47, of Farmersburg passed into eternal rest on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at her home. She entered this life on February 18, 1977 in Sullivan, the daughter of James Cartwright Sr. and Teresa Holdren Lovellette.

Doddie, was a graduate of North Central High School Class of 1995. She married her loving husband Michael “Mikey” McClure, on January 4, 2002. While in school she was a member of the North Central Choir, Show Choir and Ambassadors. She was a certified Medical Assistant. Her passion was taking care of others. She was employed for various home health care agencies over the years. She spent her life caring for those around her whether it be family, friends or clients that she came to cherish as family. Her kind heart and gentle spirit made caring for others part of who she was. If you were privileged to know Doddie you knew her heart was big and her personality was bigger. She enjoyed laughing and making others laugh, she was definitely the life of the party. Her distinct laughter would overflow the room. She always had a story to share. Her approach in life was to find the humor in the moment.

Doddie was well known and she knew everyone as well, she never met a stranger. She was the “Mom” to all the kids at Noah's school and friends. She loved social media and making Tik Tok videos. Most importantly she loved her family. She adored being Noah's mother, Mike's wife and always, Teresa's baby girl. She may not have been “Betty Crocker” in the kitchen, but the love she shared so abundantly trumped all. Besides, who needs to cook when there are so many drive-thrus to choose from!

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael McClure; son, Noah McClure, step son, Jordan McClure; mother, Teresa  Lovellette (John); father, James Cartwright Sr; grandfather,Victor Kent; brothers, Jimmy Cartwright Jr (Melissa); sister, Bonnie Wingate, step sisters, Nicole Goodman and Michelle Cox (C.D.); mother and father in-law, Marvin and Mary McClure; brother in-laws, Dereck McClure (Leslie) and Troy McClure (Addie). Along with several cherished nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.

The staff at Holmes Memorial Chapel were honored to assist the family with arrangements.
