Donald F Courtney

Donald F. Courtney, 89, of Sullivan, passed away on January 3, 2018 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Sullivan County on November 11, 1928 to Paul and Alice (Birch) Courtney. He was a 1946 graduate from Sullivan High School, a member of the Sullivan United Methodist Church, American Legion and had retired from Public Service Company of Indiana (Duke Energy) on January 1, 1990 after 41 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years Betty Murphy Courtney whom he married on September 2, 1949, son,Douglas (Sheila) Courtney of Battle Creek MI, daughter Terri (Rick) Ridgway of Carlisle, grandchildren, Brandon (Kellie) Courtney, Nicole Courtney, all from Battle Creek MI, step granddaughter, Collette (Kevin) Donnar, step great grandchildren Carson and Elania Donnar all from Oaktown, and a brother Whitney (Joann) Courtney of Sullivan, several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday January 9, 2018 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ben Cassiday officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8:00p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery.
