Doran Lofton

Doran A Lofton of Taylor Michigan died on Wednesday January 1, 2014 at the age of 88. He was born on December 29, 1925 in Sullivan County to Medsker and Lottie Lofton (Thomas). He was a WWII veteran and after the war attended Indiana University obtaining a degree in physics. He was employed at Ford Motor Company as a research physicist retiring after 30 years of service. In his spare time, Doran enjoyed flying private aircrafts and was an amateur radio enthusiast holding a general license. Doran also enjoyed traveling both personally and professionally. He is preceded in death by three brothers Howard, Lester, and Orris Lofton and one niece Martha Nash (Lofton). Survivors include one sister-in-law Mildred Lofton (Harding) Shelburn; a nephew and niece; and two great-nieces and five great-nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at K of P cemetery Hymera, with pastor Norman Santus officiating.
