Doris L Cox

Doris L Cox, 82, of Sullivan passed away Sunday December 18, 2016 at Millers Merry Manor. She was born in Sullivan on December 1, 1934 to Walter McMahan and Maud Farrand McMahan. Doris was a 1952 graduate of Sullivan High School and had been employed at the Red and White Grocery Store and the Sullivan State Bank. She was a very active member of the Sullivan First Christian Church and the Missionary Unit # 6. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband's Howard Mason and Tom Cox, a son Mark Mason, brothers Melvin, Walter, Mervin, and Maurice McMahan, sisters Norma Graham, Lois Brown, and Naomi Huff.

Survivors include her son Greg (Beth) Mason of Washington, step sons David Mason of Escanaba MI Mike (Teresa) Cox of Jasonville, Gregg (Rhonda) Cox, of Hutsonville IL, Gary (Denise) Cox of West Union IL, sister in-law Patricia Woolverton of Hutsonville, brothers Donald (Jean) McMahan of Sullivan, Charles McMahan of Sullivan, sisters Wilma Spencer of Sullivan, Janice (Melvin) Wright of Sullivan, daughter in-law Linda (Mason) Hamilton of Sullivan, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces nephews who were very special to her.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday December 21, 2016 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Cox Officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery. If Friends so desire donations may be made to the Missionary Unit #6 envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
