Doris Lee (Pearman) Pierce

Doris Lee Pearman Pierce, 86, of Sullivan passed gently into the arms of Jesus on Friday, August 23, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Doris entered this life on June 12, 1938 born to Ray and Mona Kaufman Pearman. She was a 1956 Sullivan High School Graduate, then continued her education at Union School of Nursing in Terre Haute to earn her Registered Nursing Degree. In 1958 she married her lifetime sweetheart, Harry F. Pierce.

She was a familiar caretaker to many over her years of dedicated service at Mary Sherman Hospital. Her loving nature and desire to care for others made a flawless career with nursing. At home she was a devoted and loving mother, mimi and great mimi, who adored her family and cherished time spent with them. She and Harry enjoyed dancing and traveling. In her spare time she was an avid reader, especially romance novels. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed the fellowship of friends and church family. She met regularly with one of the many “Coffee Clubs” at McDonalds where fellowship with chatter and laughter was plentiful. She was a longtime member of the Sullivan First Christian Church. Her kind and caring heart she abundantly shared has left lifetime imprints in the hearts of her loved ones.

Preceding her are her parents and husband, along with a brother, Bradley Pearman and son in-law, Brian Jackson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Steven M. Pierce, Julie Ann Pierce Williams and Ann Pierce Dunn (Roger); grandchildren, Grant Williams, Kylie Williams, Taya Chesterfield, Sierra Barnhart (Dennis), Bryce Pierce, Jannae Murray (Colton), Pierce Jackson (Tamryne), Jordan Dunn (McKenzie) ; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Pearman (Melissa) and sister in-law, Susan Pearman.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 4:00 pm. to 7:00 pm. at Holmes Memorial Chapel, services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with David Cox officiating.  Burial will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 10:00 am. in Center Ridge Cemetery.
