Estella Marie (Crowder) Woods

Estella Marie (Crowder) Woods, 94 of Shelburn completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Regional Hospital surrounded by loved ones. She began her journey on August 25, 1930, born to Mike Crowder and Beulah (Wheat) Crowder. She graduated from Hymera High School in 1948. She married her love, John F. Woods on December 22, 1951, and together they operated the Hoosier State Motel in Sullivan for 26 years. The couple was married until his death in 1991.

Estella was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to bake, and her chocolate chip cookies were a family favorite.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sheryl Turner (Perry) and daughter “in her heart”, Darla Frisz (David). Grandchildren include Matthew Frisz (Grace), Elise “Nikki” Mc Daniel, and Eric (Gina) Turner. Great grandchildren, Erica Turner (Brian), Nattalie Frisz, Alli McDaniel (William), Isabel McDaniel, Cody McDaniel, Billy Turner, Jesse Turner, and Brian Turner. Great-great grandchildren Carson, Jaxson, and Tyler Arnold.

Family and friends are invited to join in celebration of life on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Holmes Memorial Chapel, with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. until time of service at 2:00 pm. with Minister Norman Santus officiating. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan following the service.
