Esther M Drake

Esther M. Drake, 96, of Sullivan passed away on Friday April 4, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Vincennes on December 10, 1917 to Thomas C and Birdie (Ice) Decker. She was a 1936 graduate of Sullivan High School, was a member of the Sullivan First Baptist Church for 80 years and had married Don Drake who preceded her in death along with her parents, a son Tom Drake, brothers Thomas M Decker, Howard A Decker, Garland E Decker, sisters Thelma Bedwell, Etta Mae Griffith, sons in-laws Hal Waltman and Ray Sajkowicz.

Survivors include her son Jerry Drake of Sullivan, daughters Judy Waltman, Nancy Sajkowicz both of Sullivan, a sister JoAnn Harris of Kokomo, daughter in-law Ardath Drake of Shelburn, eleven grandchildren Jill (Todd) Ransford of Sullivan, Amy (Mike) McClintock of Fishers, Beth (Dan) Klaker of Nashville IN, Angela (Israel) Blevins of Avon, Andrea (Victor) Stafford of Honolulu HI, Joy (Matt) Thomasson of Jasonville, Deborah (James) Dunlap of Thornton IL, Rachel Drake of Bloomington, Kevin Drake of Carlisle, Esther Darlene (Micah) Houtz of Epping NH, Helen Denise (Jason) Davis of Loogootee, twenty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday April 11, 2014 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Bro Allan Griggs officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Private burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
