Fran Carrico, 82, of Carlisle passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026 while surrounded by her family. Visitation will be at the First Christian Church in Sullivan from 11 to 1 on Friday, January 16. Funeral will be conducted by Pastor Lyle Parker at 1:00 P.M.
Frances Ann Struble was born in 1943 in Gary, Indiana. She had two brothers Paul and Fred, and one sister Donna. She attended Lew Wallace High School in Gary and graduated in 1961. In 1962 she married Randall Wayne Carrico. They moved to Carlisle in 1968.
Survivors include her daughter Lorrie and her husband Walt Shearin, a son Jayme and his wife Patty, another daughter Cheri and her husband Matt Figg. Fran was very proud of her grandsons. This list includes Jeremy Shearin, Joshua Carrico, Matthew Carrico, Michael Carrico, Nicholas Roberts, Jessie Roberts and Clay Figg.
Fran graduated from Vincennes University in 1975. She became an operating nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. She worked in surgery for twenty years. She was Vice President of A O R N. AORN is an association of operative registered nurses. Her chapter was over a three state area. After leaving Good Samaritan Hospital she served as Director of Nursing at Westridge Nursing home in Terre Haute and then later at the nursing home in Freelandville. She retired in 1999.
She was very devoted to her church and was very active in it. She really loved working with children. If you so wish, you may make a donation to the First Christian Church Children's Ministry, in loving memory of Fran.
