Gerald Andrew Borders

March 22, 1964 — September 10, 2025

Graysville

On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, Gerald Andrew Borders passed from this realm at his home in Sullivan, IN. Known by all as Andy, he was born March 22, 1964 in Terre Haute, IN to Rosemary L. Miley Borders and Gerald E. Borders, who preceded him. Nephew Dustin Borders also preceded him.

Andy attended Graysville School and graduated from Sullivan High School, Class of 1982. He immediately became part of the farm business with his dad, and they worked the farm until Gerald passed on and Andy continued to farm. Andy, with his brother, Ronald Borders, took loving care of their mom and dad until they passed on in 2005 and 2006, respectively.

Andy was full of life, fun to be around, and was always helping those around him. Andy married the love of his life, Lisa G. (Hall) Pinkston on January 29, 1993. Andy’s life was further enriched when Kayla Rose Borders was born October 12, 2001, just after the 911 tragedy. He was a great dad and enjoyed teaching her everything he knew. He competed in many motocross races. Andy competed in Lincoln Trail Motosports 6 th Annual Moose Racing Team Hare Scrambles/Grand Prix Casey, IL, November 2001, winning Top Finisher. Borders Farms was named Friend of the Watershed 2021 by the West Central Indiana Watershed Alliance. He enjoyed a special life-long friendship with his cousin, Richard Monroe. Andy was very intelligent, and hid it behind his easy-going manner. With a glint in his eyes, and a ready smile, Andy met life with gusto and he is sorely missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his wife, Lisa Borders, Sullivan IN, daughter, Kayla Rose Borders (Nate), Suwanee GA, brother, Ronald E. Borders (Rilla), Merom IN, niece, Aly Ehle (Trent), nephew, Robert Stone (Elise), and several cousins on the Monroe side of the family, through Gerald’s sister, Garnett Borders Monroe line.

Holmes Memorial Chapel and staff were honored to assit the family with arrangments.
