Glenn Benson, 91, of Shelburn passed away on Friday November 22, 2013 at Millers Merry Manor. She was born in Sullivan County on May 10, 1922 to William Iwell and Mary (Reynolds) Taft. She was a 1941 graduate of Farmersburg High School, worked for the US Postal service in Shelburn for 40 years and the owner of Sullivan Vacuum Center for 20 years, was a member of the State Street Church of Christ in Sullivan, attended the First Christian Church of Sullivan , a member of the Order of The Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, her previous husband Bill Benson, special friend Charles W. "Willie" Usrey, three brothers Bill Taft, Dewey Taft, Ed Taft, and two sisters Dale Trueblood, Zoe Mason.

Survivors include two daughters Patty Sluder (Perry) of Shelburn Brenda Sue Benson of Terre Haute, two brothers Earl Taft of Indianapolis, Gale Taft (Leona) of Boonville, a grandson Josh Sluder of Terre Haute, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1:00p.m. on Tuesday November 26, 2013 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dale Wise officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. The family suggest that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Sullivan County Humane Shelter. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
