Herman Davidson Riley Jr.

Herman Davidson Riley Jr. of Sullivan, formerly of Delmar Maryland, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at IU Methodist. He began his life journey on May 23, 1947 in Delmar, the son of the late Herman Daividson Sr. and Carrie Pusey Riley. He married his beloved wife, Ruby Biddle on January, 30,1982. Together they created and raised a beautiful family, spending 44 years side by side walking life's path.

Herman was a loving, kind and compassionate Husband, Dad and PopPop . His world was built around those he loved and nothing was more important. He was an avid outdoorsman, who was never idle. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He took pride in sharing his love for nature with his family.

He leaves eternal footprints in the hearts of those who loved him.

He is preceded by his parents.

Those here to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Ruby Riley; children, Herman Davidson Riley III and Danielle Rene Leager and husband, Scott; sister, Betty Thomas; grandchildren, Shane, Joey, Jordan, Lilli, Cole, Mical’e. Kori and Darron; 9 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

There will be a celebration of a life well lived at a later date.

Holmes Memorial Chapel and staff were honored to assist the family with arrangements.
