Iona Boone

Iona Louise Miller Boone, 73, of Sullivan, Indiana, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015. She was the widow of Charles William "Billy" Boone. They shared 38 years of marriage together. She was born in LaPorte Co., Indiana, to Elmer Curtis "Nip" and Emma Helen Cox Miller. She graduated from Sullivan High School in 1959, and from Ivy Tech in 1990. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and previously the Sullivan First Assembly of God. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, reading, crocheting, mushroom hunting, and church activities. She will be remembered for her various crafts and willingness to help anyone in need however she was able. Iona was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill in 2005, and her parents. She is survived by her son, Charles William (Keppy Thompson) Boone, and her three grandchildren, Sydney Danielle, 16, Allyson Elizabeth, 13, and Charles William "Trey" Boone, 11, Indianapolis, her siblings Mildred "Sis" Miller Stapler, 82, Ocoee, Florida, Jeanette Miller Bedwell, 72, Elmer "Nip" (Linda) Miller, Jr., 71, and Robert "Bob" (Peggy) Miller, 67, all of Sullivan, sisters-in-law Patricia "Patty" (Jack) Boone Miller, 76, Seymour, Indiana, and Shirley (Steve) Boone D'Agostino, 71, Barneveld, New York, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 11:00am, Father Frank Renner officiating at Holmes Funeral Chapel in Sullivan, Indiana, with interment following at Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00pm - 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Heart to Heart Hospice of Indiana. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
