Jack Alexander

Jack Alexander, 64, of Sullivan passed away at Regional Hospital on Tuesday August 25, 2020 at 9:45 am with his wife by his side. He was born in Sullivan on June 18, 1956 to Joe Alexander and Kathryn (Hill) Alexander. He was a 1974 graduate of Sullivan High School, and had attended ISU. Jack had gone to work for Alexander Funeral Home, had worked for Country Roads Trucking, the Sullivan Daily Times, and The Wabash Valley Correctional Facility. He was also on the Sullivan County Council for two terms and on the City Park Board. Jack had been a member of the Sullivan Assembly of God and the Carlisle Christin Church. Preceding him in death are his parents, a son JP Alexander, brother Danny MacDonald, and a sister Kathy Roberts.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years Lana (Herndon) Alexander, whom he married on July 22, 1977; brothers, David MacDonald, of Terre Haute, Doug MacDonald of Sullivan, Sisters, Barbara Pirtle (Brian) Golish, Janet Pirtle, Kimmie Pirtle Hendrickson, Jamie Kinnaman, all of Sullivan, honorary daughter Brandi (Travis) Scott, honorary grandchildren Johnathan Ivy, Jayden Scott, special Aunt Karin Alexander, aunt and uncle Shirley and Steve D’Agostino from Barneveld NY.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday August 28, 2020 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Brother Bradley Ray Wood officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the JP Alexander Memorial Scholarship Fund, through the Wabash Valley Community Foundation. 200 South 8th Street, Terre Haute IN 47807.
