Jack Earl Hardin Jr. 69, of Sullivan passed away on November 30, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Sullivan County on August 28, 1945 to Jack E Hardin Sr. and Charlotte Pearl (Hix) Hardin. Jack was a 1963 graduate of Sullivan High School, and Marine Veteran of Vietnam War. He had been employed at Texas Gas and the Operating Engineer's Local 841, was a member of the Sullivan Elks, Sullivan American Legion, VFW, the Strawberry Hill Cannoneers, Marine Corp League and the Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his son Jack Earl Hardin III and his wife Nikki of Sullivan, a daughter Mary Houston and her husband Jamie of Brownsburg, sisters Marjorie Lawson of Linton, Mary Sherrill of Bloomington, grandchildren Mikyla Houston, Tyler Houston, Aaron Vire, Jack Earl Hardin IV, Kendal Hardin.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday December 4, 2014 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Norman Santus officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4- 8:00 p.m. Military services will be given by the Hymera, Shelburn, Sullivan American Legion's and the Sullivan VFW. Burial will take place at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
