James “Jimmy” Monroe Rogers of Sullivan, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Envive of Sullivan. He began his life journey on November 26, 1943 in South Bend, Indiana. He was one of three children born to Oakley and Sedgret Rogers. He married his life partner, Margaret Ashcraft on February 9, 1967. He and Margaret spent 54 years of loving life and raising their 4 children, before her passing in 2021.
Jimmy valued family and hard work. He was a dedicated coal miner, and trucker who enjoyed his work. He later was employed with Redpower and Sullivan County Highway Department. In his leisure time he was a “backyard” mechanic and had a passion for building his antique 1960 Mack truck, from the ground up. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Sullivan, and Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Margaret Rogers; brother, Oakley Rogers and sister, Nina Dean.
Those here to cherish his memory are his children, Kenny Rogers, Jimmy Rogers, Christy Rogers and Angie Rogers; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren. A special niece Shelly, along with several other nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Cremation was chosen with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
