James “Jim” Mahan 84, of Wilfred was swept softly into the arms of Jesus on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Gibson Family Center.
He entered this life on October 10, 1939 the son of James and Martha Baker Mahan. He was a graduate of Hymera High school. Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Army and served his Country proudly. After his return home he joined the workforce with Columbia Records until his retirement.
Jim attended Hymera Emmanuel Apostolic Church, was a member of Masonic Lodge # 588, Terre Haute Valley Scottish Rite and Eastern Stars # 289.
He was a kind hearted and likable man with a dry sense of humor. If you knew Jim, you knew he was opinionated and was never shy about sharing his thoughts on the subject with you. He enjoyed his recliner watching tv with his faithful 4 legged buddy “Hamie” at his side. Jim was very unselfish in his generosity to various charities and good causes. His kindness and wit will be deeply missed while forever remembered.
Preceding are his parents along with a brother, David E. Mahan.
Among those left to cherish his memory are a cousin, Shirley Bickel along with his lifetime friend and chosen brother, John Kim Everhart and Meghan and his faithful companion Hambone “Hamie”.
