James J Phegley

James J. Phegley, 89, of Vincennes passed away on Saturday March 19, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He was born in Sullivan County on August 8, 1926 to James P and Jessie M (Marchino) Phegley. James was a 1944 graduate of Carlisle High School, an Army Veteran of the Korean War, Merchant Marine, and a truck driver for 72 years. Preceding him in death are his parents, and a brother Robert "Bob" Phegley.

Survivors include a son James Jay Phegley, two brothers Steve (Janice) Phegley, Philip (Dalene) Phegley both of Carlisle, a sister in-law Bonnie Phegley, sisters Sara Chowning of Banning CA, Linda (Ed) Howaniec of Terre Haute.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 22, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sullivan with Fr Ken Heard officiating. Visitation will be at Holmes Memorial Chapel on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Carlisle. Holmes Memorial Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.
