James Evan Quick 84 of Farmersburg, In (Quickville) passed away Dec. 25th 2025 in his home with his family. James was born in Connersville, In. on July 23rd 1941 to Jewell L Quick and Opal (Miller) Quick. He Married Marjorie (Swalls) Quick on Dec 8th 1962 and from this union were three sons. Mark (deceased) and his wife Melodie, Jerry (Connie) and their sons Logan (Promise), Landon (Olivia), Michael (deceased) Lydia Roberts, their daughters Olivia (Austin), Hayley (Taylor), and one daughter, Kimberly Morrison (Shane) their son Lincoln and his fiance’ Olivia, their daughter Sydney (Adonis). He also has 2 great grandsons and 2 great grand daughters and another great grandson due any day. He is also survived by a sister Karol Popoff, and a brother Earl “Peanut” Quick and sister in law, MaryLou and several nieces and nephews and a host of other family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie, sons Mark Evan, Michael James, and a brother Keith “Buck” Quick and his parents.
He was an employee of Colombia Records for 18 and ½ years, and also worked at Hesters Lucky Dollar in Hymera, In for many years where he specialized in making barbecue ribs, steak sandwiches and chicken and noodles.
As a teenager he went to a revival service at the original Sullivan church and received the Holy Ghost on April 11, 1959 and lived that life and served the Lord Jesus Christ from that day forward. Later he became the pastor of the Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Hymera, In. and served there for 44 years until his retirement on April 1, 2018. He and his wife loved people unconditionally and would help people in anyway that they could. They would pile as many people into a vehicle as they could just to see that someone could learn about Jesus. Church and family were his life.
Visitation will be Monday, December 29, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle 1075 N. Fruitridge Ave., Terre Haute, IN. His Homegoing Service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time also at the church.
