Jaime Lynn Followell, 49, of Sullivan, Indiana answered the soft sweet voice of Jesus and went running into His everlasting arms, on Saturday, August 8, 2026. She began her journey in life on May 19, 1977 in Terre Haute, Indiana; the daughter of Douglas Shaw Followell and the late Terri Shackelford.
Jaime was defined by her deep love of Jesus and strong faith. Her recent diagnosis she met with boldness. Her faith was a testimony to all who knew her. She was secure of her home in Heaven, when she bid this world farewell. She loved praising and worshipping her Lord and Savior. You would find her in her car and at home, with the music turned up LOUD and her dancing and singing. Her vibrant, bold and determined personality was evident to all who met her. She never encountered a stranger; her smile and generous spirit were welcoming to all.
If you were fortunate to have a seat at her table, her down-home cooking was exceptional. She loved hosting gatherings, cooking for family and friends and making memories around the table. Her love for Florida was reflected when you entered her home. Her love of everything Disney, along with the beach, was where she cherished making memories with those she loved. She was very artistic and enjoyed spending her spare time working on scrapbooks, keepsakes, Lego sets, and other creative endeavors. Throughout her life she found purpose in her work as a realtor and was proficient in her accounting position at the Sullivan County Park and Lake.
Above all in her life she was devoted to her children, and grandchildren. She was honored to have the title of “Mimi”. Her devotion and love to her children, grandchildren, parents and siblings, was boundless. She loved life and who she shared it with. The immeasurable imprint she has left with those who loved her, will forever live in their hearts, leaving an enduring legacy.
Those awaiting her Heavenly arrival were her mother, Terri Shackelford; sister, Andrea Shaw Followell; son, Jaylin Chandler, along with her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Those she leaves with enduring memories are, her father, Douglas Shaw Followell (Paula); children, Justin Keller (Jenna), James Followell (Gracie),
Elizabeth “Lizzie” Chandler, Eriqua “Shea” Reel (Jaylon); her siblings Clint Followell, Shane Shackelford (Leah), Dustin Shackleford (Lauren) and Brandon Shackelford (Gabby). Several adored grandchildren, extended family and friends.
A going Home celebration will be on Friday, August 14, 2026 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with family and friends gathering from 4:00pm. until time of service at 7:00pm. Pastor Jason Jones will officiate.
