Janet Thompson

Janet Thompson, 69, of Farmersburg passed away on Friday November 17, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Terre Haute on February 4, 1948 to Virgil Reed and Dorothy (Cooper) Reed. Janet was a 1966 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School and a graduate from St. Mary of the Woods College. She was an accountant, a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Farmersburg and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son Bradley Thompson.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years Robert Allen Thompson, whom she married on September 15, 1967; a daughter Tanya (Darrell) Shell of Lafayette GA, sons David (Vicki) Thompson of Idaho Falls ID and Darin (Alisa) Thompson of Huntersville NC, sisters Mary Martin of Indianapolis, Nancy Barnhart of West Terre Haute, grandchildren, Renee Shell, Shannon Thompson, Jared Thompson, Ty Thompson, Kylee Thompson, and a great grandson, Jett.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Larger officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg.
