Janice Pugh passed onto eternal life in the comfort of her home, with her loved ones by her side on February 5, 2024. Janice (Jan) was born June 30, 1941, in Sullivan County to Noah Southwood and Grace(Lynch) Southwood.
She is survived by her husband Kenny Pugh; daughter, Glyna Humm (Rob) of Chelsea, Alabama, along with son William (Billy), (Beth) of Chelsea, Alabama and four grandchildren, Parker, Nathan, Laine, and Emilee; sister, Judy Miller (Terry), Shelburn, a brother, Jay Southwood (Nikki) Shelburn; sister-in-law, Nancy Southwood, Plainfield, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son Kenneth (KD) Pugh of Shelburn; sister, Barbara Kilcoin (Pat ), sister Marlene Norris of Shelburn and brother Gary Southwood.
Jan was a licensed Beautician for Merle Norman Studio, Sullivan, Typist and Clerk for Allis Chalmers, Accounting Secretary, Central Nitrogen. She married her life partner of 61 years, Kenny Pugh on February 24, 1962. She was the mother of three children and stay at home Mom - working part time at Ace Hardware. The following 30 years were spent enjoying her Real Estate career with numerous satisfied sellers and buyers. She attended FirstBaptist Church of Shelburn and was Member-At-Large and past President of Delta Theta Tau Sorority, Epsilon Mu Chapter.
Friends and family may pay respects on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 11:00 am. until time of service at 1:00 pm. at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ben Weatherington officiating. She will be laid to rest following at West Lawn Cemetery.
