Jerry Wayne Shields

Jerry Wayne Shields 78, of Apollo Beach, FL. stepped into his Heavenly home on Sunday, May 17 ,2026 at LifePath Hospice. He began his life journey on February 17, 1948 in Shelburn, Indiana the son of the late Lawrence and Azalea McConnell Shields. He was a graduate of North Central High School, where he was a member of the basketball team. Furthering his education earning his BS from Indiana State University. His career path was sharing his passion of history, in Texas. He proudly served his Country in the United States Army. He and his loving wife, Marcia Beckley Shields, lived and loved life together hand in hand. He attended St. Stephens Methodist Church in Houston.

His parents preceded him.

Those here to cherish his memory are his wife, Marcia Beckley Shields; siblings, Ricky Shields, Steve Shields, Nancy Wells, Donna Nardulli, Vickie Ficklin and Beverly Forester, along with several nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

A graveside service to celebrate a well lived life, will be on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn, IN. at 1:00 pm.

Military services will be given by the Sullivan County Honor Guard.

Holmes Memorial Chapel and staff are honored to assist the family with arrangements.
