Jim Gadberry, 84 of Sullivan, passed away on Wednesday May 8, 2019 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born in Sullivan County on August 5, 1934 to John Gadberry and Bernice (Lance) Gadberry. Jim was a 1952 graduate of Carlisle High School, was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, and had ben a member of the First Baptist Church for 50 Years. Jim was a loving family man who enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Becky Asdell and a son-in law Robert (Bobby) Thompson.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years Marlynn (Riggs) Gadberry, whom he married on July 12, 1958; a son Jim (Terri) Gadberry, a daughter Marla (Dave) Thomas, grandchildren, Josh Thompson, Ashlee (Kristopher) DeMyer, Jamie (J.D.) Wilson, Kacie (Tim) Brooks, Taylor (Matt) Woodard, Delaney (Logan) Hennecke, great-grandchildren, Makenzee, Jacie, Easton and Harper Wilson, Abigail and Elliot Brooks, Adalynn and Lane Woodard and Braelynn Hennecke.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Grave Site on Tuesday May 14, 2019 in Center Ridge Cemetery with Rev Glen Archer officiating. Visitation will be held at Holmes Memorial Chapel on Monday May 13, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. The family would like to thank the Physiocare Home Health Care and the Kindred Hospice for their love and compassionate care given to Jim. The family suggest that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers association.
