Jim Kester

August 27, 1945 — December 19, 2017

James "Jim" Kester, 72, of Jasonville, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born in Peru, IN, on August 27, 1945 to Richard L Kester and Rita Jane (Hedrick) Kester. Jim was an Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War, he was a Free and Accepted Mason of Camby Lodge # 707. He was retired from Eli Lilly & Co. and Four Rivers Resource Services. Jim loved spending time with his family, especially traveling, hunting and fishing, and playing card games. Preceding him in death are his father, and granddaughters Sophia Kester, Lillian Popplewell.

Survivors include his mother; his wife of 45 years Kathy (Turner) Kester whom he married on January 15, 1972, son Rick (Billie) Kester of Connersville, Jaime Kester and her companion Steve Peeden of Martinsville, brother Terry (Vonda) Kester of Greenwood, sisters Janet (Randy) England of Sullivan, Cherry Dollahan of Jasonville, Judy Evans of Indianapolis, grandchildren, Brennan Joy, Rylie Joy, Ava Kester, Stella Kester, and a great grandchild Paisley Joy.

Visitation will be at 11:00a.m on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Holmes Memorial Chapel. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Gehring officiating. Military services will be given by the Hymera, Shelburn, Sullivan American Legion's and Sullivan VFW. Burial will be in Greenwood, IN at Forest Lawn, date to be determined.
