Jim L Kirk

Jim Kirk, 86, of Terre Haute, formerly of Freelandville and Carlisle passed away on April 20, 2018 at Signature Healthcare in Terre Haute. Jim was born in Indianapolis on February 19, 1932 to Dale Kirk and Lillian (Hollingsworth) Kirk. He was a 1950 graduate from Freelandville High School, joined the Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. Jim was a truck driver and had retired from the Crane Naval Weapons Support Center in 1994; was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church and the American Legion Krietenstein Post #104 of Terre Haute.

Survivors include his wife Patricia Allsman Kirk of Terre Haute, son Jay Kirk Dayton OH, daughter Becky Sue Kirk Payne of Terre Haute, brother Jerry Kirk of Bicknell, sister Sharon Dunkerly of Freelandville, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Ann Kirk Williams.

Services to celebrate his life will be held at the grave site in Oddfellows Cemetery; Carlisle, at 11:00a.m on Friday April 27, 2018 with Rev. Allissa Williams officiating. Services have been entrusted to Holmes Memorial Chapel. The family suggest that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown MD 21741-5014.
